About City of Hope
City of Hope Cancer Center is at the forefront of some of the nation's most promising breast cancer research
and treatment programs and conducting a number of promising clinical trials that are helping to redefine the
standards of care for breast cancer patients at medical centers nationwide. This research involves
establishing innovative breast cancer research protocols, including bone marrow transplantation (BMT), new
anticancer drugs, radiotherapy, breast conserving surgery, gene therapy, immunologic treatments and
quality-of-life studies.
Today, over 2 million women nationally suffer from breast cancer. To meet their urgent needs, City of Hope has
made a major institutional commitment to remain at the forefront of this crucial biomedical field. This
commitment not only serves City of Hope patients, but the scientific knowledge generated there is shared with
other top cancer centers across the country, ensuring that the most advanced therapies help women afflicted
with breast cancer everywhere, every day.
